European Accessibility Act: How it affects Danish businesses

Man sitting at a desk in a cozy office, working on a computer with accessibility icons on the screen; outside the window, a small town hall with the Danish flag can be seen.

Beginning 28 June 2025, digital accessibility will become a legal requirement for many businesses in Denmark through the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

The new law in Denmark is based on an EU directive and sets requirements for, among others, webshops, apps, e-books, ticketing solutions, and digital payment services.

But who is covered? What needs to be accessible—and how do you document it?

I have written a practical guide that explains what the law means in a Danish context. It is written in clear and concrete language and is intended for developers, designers, business leads, and others working with digital products and services.

The guide covers:

  • Which companies and solutions are included
  • How the requirements are implemented in Denmark
  • What documentation and accessibility statements are required
  • What to do if you are unsure
